Community Dental Programs
EBCAP’s Community Dental Programs are bringing preventive and restorative dental care to children at their schools and daycare centers. The agency operates two Community Dental Programs – East Bay Smiles and The Molar Express.
East Bay Smiles
East Bay Smiles is a school-based oral health program that delivers dental care to children at their school. Our dentists and dental hygienists use portable dental equipment, setup in spaces provided by the school, for oral examinations, cleanings, sealants, and oral health education.
*Children in need of restorative care are referred for treatment to The Molar Express or their dental provider.
The Molar Express
The Molar Express, supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England, is a 40-foot long, specially designed dental office on wheels that travels to many Rhode Island communities. The program targets children up to age 21 and provides comprehensive dental services. EBCAP partners with Comprehensive Community Action Program and Thundermist Health Center to bring essential dental services to our communities. Each organization has use of The Molar Express on a three-month rotation. For more information please visit molarexpress.org. Community Dental Programs’ Hours: School hours
Insurances Accepted: Most insurances including United Rite Smiles and Medicaid Dental; uninsured patients are also accepted. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay.
