Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a seasonal program, running this year from October 1, 2020 to May 28, 2021. LIHEAP helps households stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer through programs that reduce the risk of health and safety problems that arise from unsafe heating and cooling practices.
Per season, a one-time supplemental grant is sent directly to vendors who then credit the client’s account for the amount specified. Eligible clients also qualify for a reduced electric rate as well as a discount on their telephone bills.
