WIC Discontinued Food Substitutions

As of August 4, 2020 the food substitutions are no longer allowed or necessary for WIC in Rhode Island. Participants should use the RI WIC Food Guide for guidance. Please see below for the discontinued list of substitutions:

The following are no longer approved food substitutions:

  1. Use of 2% milk instead of low fat/fat free milk
  2. Smaller container sizes for yogurt
  3. 24oz loaves of bread
  4. 64oz juice for women
  5. Any size eggs – medium, jumbo, extra-large no longer authorized – large eggs only
  6. In addition, State of Emergency size substitutions are no longer in effect
