Celebrating Community Spirit and Honoring Our Leader

East Bay Community Action Program, together with Premier Event Sponsor Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, held a celebration Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, RI. This year’s 17th Seaside Gala not only celebrated the community spirit that helps support EBCAP’s programs and services, but it also honored the career and achievements of our President and CEO, Dennis Roy. In recognition of his more than 30 years of distinguished work and dedication, EBCAP presented its 2022 Vision Award to Dennis Roy during an award ceremony with featured guests and speakers.

“An Ocean State of Mind”

Guests enjoyed stunning ocean views from the lawn at Castle Hill Inn and gathered for an evening that included good friends, good food (passed hors d’oeuvres, food stations, and dessert) and good fun (live music by the band Those Guys, an auction, and a few surprises).

We enjoyed sharing this very special evening with all attendees to support of individuals in need of vital health and human services. Thanks to all who participated, EBCAP will continue its work to ensure all community members stay safe, secure, and healthy. Thank You!

Online Auction

Our online auction was hosted on Bidding For Good! It opened for bids May 19 and concluded during our event on June 2. The top bid of $2,300 was placed for a round of golf for four people at Newport Country Club. Not far behind, at $2,100, was the second place bid for a 7-day cruise for two from Holland America Line.

Event Attire: (Rhode) Island Chic

With this year’s “An Ocean State of Mind” theme, guests were encouraged to dress as they might for an evening out on an island resort. Sun dresses, khakis and polo shirts, Hawaiian shirts, capri pants, or clothes with a nautical motif matched perfectly with the event’s theme.
