Internship Opportunities

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on learning. The knowledge and skills you will gain through an internship with EBCAP is an excellent way to prepare for your future career. EBCAP interns get relevant experience into the career of their interest.

EBCAP has internship opportunities in the following programs:

  • Behavioral Health
  • Head Start and Early Head Start  
  • Family Health Centers (East Providence and Newport)
  • Dental Services (Newport)  
  • Family Development Case Management (East Providence and Newport)
  • Public Relations/Marketing (Newport)
  • Finance (Newport) 

EBCAP offers part-time unpaid internships and relevant work experience opportunities. Internships for college credit are available during the academic calendar: fall semester (Sept.-Dec.) spring semester (Jan.-May) and summer break (June-Aug.). 

Requirements:

  • Students must be 18 or older.
  • Students must be enrolled in a degree and/or certification program. 
  • Students may apply for an internship by submitting a request to the Human Resource Department. The request is to include the parameters of the internship including the length of time and location.  Human Resources will contact the preceptors in the agency to inquire if the internship is accepted.
  • Students will receive a notification from Human Resources regarding their request for an internship.  If the internship is approved the student will be required to provide pre-internship documentation including criminal background check and immunizations based on the program.
  • All interns are required to attend an EBCAP intern orientation prior to beginning the approved internship.
