STUDENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST (EBCAP0091)

East Bay Community Action Program is seeking a Student and Family Engagement Specialist for our Newport Family & Child Opportunity Zone Program. This is a full time, school year position with possible summer hours.

As a member of the NFCOZ Student Supports Team, the Student and Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for encouraging student and family connections to school in order to promote student success in school. 

Duties include planning activities that support school engagement, promoting the importance of daily attendance, assisting to target students for out of school time services to encourage school engagement, daily social and emotional/support of program participants, building and maintaining collaborative relationships with faculty and staff, interacting with community agencies, and promoting parent involvement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education or a Human Services field, Master’s degree preferred, and at least three years of community work experience with children and youth, behavior management, program development, and recruitment. Experience with PBIS a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability with multi-cultural and economically diverse populations bilingual a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to problem solve• Excellent organizational skills
  • Must submit a criminal background check and CANTS check and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
