Receptionist (EBCAP0099)

East Bay Center a division of East Bay Community Action Program is seeking a part time (24 hour) Receptionist for our East Providence location. The Receptionist will perform a variety of administrative functions in support of the clinical services provided at the Adams Farley Counseling Center. The Receptionist may work day and/or evening shift, depending on schedule. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Triage incoming calls, complaints, and/or questions, utilizing sound judgement and initiative to ensure questions/concerns are answered or triaged/routed appropriately. 
  • Check-in clients and collect appropriate co-payments. Record payment or non-payment in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). 
  • Complete check-out process and schedule prescriber and therapy follow-up appointments.
  • Place reminder calls to clients for all prescriber, intake and therapy appointments. Inform/Remind clients who have a prior balance and/or co-payment of their financial obligation.
  • Scan and/or fax Protected Health Information (PHI) documents following established protocol for clinical staff as needed 


  • Certification in a Secretarial Science Program, or equivalent number of years’ direct experience in reception/support services. 
  • Excellent human relation and communication skills, required. 
  • Must be skilled in office procedures, multi-telephone system, exhibit exceptional telephone courtesy techniques, and knowledge of office equipment.
  • Must exercise initiative and judgment to screen and establish priorities assuring the efficient operation of the Center program. 
  • Solid computer experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point required.
  • Prior experience in an electronic medical record environment (example: NEXT GEN) preferred.
  • Must past appropriate background checks
