The East Bay Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a program for individuals 55 years and older who want to contribute their time and energy to impact and improve conditions in the community. Over 750 volunteers make a positive difference in the lives of their neighbors, while meeting friends and developing new interests and skills at 150 sites from East Providence to Newport.
Members of the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) help children develop the skills, confidence, and strength to succeed in life. Foster Grandparents make their neighborhoods stronger by helping children with special needs and providing much needed attention that can change lives. FGP's assist in schools, Head Start sites and day care centers throughout the East Bay.
RSVP volunteers must be 55 years of age or older. People serving as FGP's must be 60 years or older and income eligible.
East Bay RSVP/FGP services the city of East Providence and both Bristol and Newport Counties.
VITA Tax Preparation Assistance
East Bay Community Action Program provides IRS-trained tax preparers through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) to provide tax preparation services to clients and help them to receive the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). EITC reduces the federal tax one owes, and can result in a refund. Click here for more details.
