Eligibility: Available to all residents of the East Bay. For those without health insurance, services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Medical Assistance, RIteCare and other private insurances are also accepted.
The Community Health Centers provide affordable health care to Newport County, Bristol County and East Providence residents. Services offered include: pediatrics, family medicine, pregnancy testing, immunizations, care for acute illness, health screenings and general community education and referrals. We are a small group of providers caring for women throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond. We provide comprehensive maternity and newborn care at our health center and at the Birth Center at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket.
We offer personalized, family-centered care with shared decision-making and support for your birth preferences. What’s important to you is important to us! We believe that pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy events the majority of the time. We seek to honor the process and offer evidence-based interventions only when necessary.
Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island is the only hospital in the state designated as both Mother-Friendly and Baby-Friendly. When there is medical need for a c-section, Memorial Hospital is the area leader in the Gentle Cesarean technique to maximize mother-infant bonding during cesarean birth.
Our health center has on-site laboratory services, WIC, assistance with applying for RIte Care health insurance, and a pregnancy support program for teens. In addition to pregnancy and birth care, we can also provide pediatric care for your baby and serve your women’s health care needs throughout all the stages of your life.
