Teacher

Full-time (30 hours per week), part year position open in our Head Start Preschool classroom in East Bay area. RI certification in Early Childhood Education (ECE-birth to age six) or BA/MA in Early Childhood Education with 3 months supervised ECE teaching experience. Other combinations of related education and Early Childhood Education experience will be considered. Oversee daily classroom functioning utilizing Head Start Program Performance Standards, Rhode Island Department of Education, East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) Head Start/Early Head Start Program Plan, The Creative Curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to ensure that all children have the opportunity for a high quality, nurturing, and safe learning experience. Ensure the implementation of the EBCAP assessment system and plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum activities geared towards each child’s individual needs. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must be positive and enjoy working with multi-cultural and economically diverse children and families. Bilingual a plus. Benefit package included.
